Sunflight

Daedalus the master craftsman and his son Icarus spent many hours building a wondrous palace for King Minos of Crete. Beneath the palace they build a giant labyrinth to hide the horrible monsters of the King. Because they knew the secrets of the labyrinth, the King refused to let them leave the palace. Daedalus fashions wings for the escape of himself and his son, but Icarus fails to heed his father’s warning about their use.

This is author-illustrator Gerald McDermott’s eloquent interpretation of the timeless myth of Daedalus and Icarus, told in spare prose with bold and glowing illustrations.
